Our Approach to Healing
Restoring Movement, Relieving Pain
The Breakthrough Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT)

The Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT) is an innovative approach for effectively treating muscle and joint pain by targeting injuries at their root. AMIT allows patients to recover significantly faster, often in hours rather than weeks, by reactivating muscles that are neurologically “shut off” following injury. When NFL great Bill Romanowski introduced me to AMIT in 2014, he shared that it, along with ELDOA, was instrumental in keeping him on the field for 17 uninterrupted years.

The AMIT method has become an incredible resource for patients of all activity levels, from professional athletes to active retirees. Using this novel approach, we identify and stimulate inactive muscles, “turning them back on” to restore balance to the entire body. This process doesn’t just relieve pain; it also enhances the function and stability of your musculoskeletal system, helping you recover faster with more complete healing.

The Origins of AMIT
AMIT was pioneered by chiropractor and long-distance runner Dr. Alan Beardall, who understood the body’s protective response to injury. When a muscle or joint is injured—such as during an ankle sprain—the body naturally shuts down the affected muscles to prevent further damage, leading to compensation and imbalance as the body relies on other tissues. While this protects the injury, it also leaves a functional deficit and opens the door to further issues. Dr. Beardall’s discovery of how to reactivate these “shut-off” muscles has made AMIT an essential technique for restoring balance and preventing long-term complications.

“It’s absolutely amazing how much more strength I felt in my shoulder after Dr. Muehlinghaus reset a few of my muscles”, one patient reports. “I carried my heavy purse on that side with more strength and no pain, which I couldn’t do before. And the cool thing is, the shoulder still feels better weeks after the treatment!”
Dr. Craig Buhler took AMIT further, refining it over his 26-year tenure with the Utah Jazz Basketball Team, where AMIT treatments helped reduce their injury rates by 60% compared to the national average.
Prolonging Athletic Careers

Chronic injuries are a major factor in ending athletic careers and active lifestyles. AMIT has proven its ability to extend the careers of athletes like Bill Romanowski and John Stockton, allowing them to stay at the top of their game longer. By neurologically reactivating muscles and balancing the entire musculoskeletal system, AMIT offers anyone—whether a pro athlete or a weekend warrior—the ability to access their full muscle potential without relying on compensations that lead to further pain.
